Ford Foundation Fellowship for Vietnam Community Development (open for college graduates)

  • Four annual fellowships awarded to individuals with experience with the Vietnamese or Vietnamese-American community.

*(This is what I’m doing.)

A fellowship includes working at a VIA post, $1000 for a community development project, training and in-field support, visa, housing and living stipend, medical and emergency/evacuation insurance, ground transportation, relocation allowance, materials allowance, readjustment allowance, and return airfare to U.S. upon completion of service.

Long-Term Posts

You may also apply to be a long-term volunteer without applying for the fellowship (for these you do NOT have to be Vietnamese-American). Positions including working as an English Resource for a non-governmental service organization or as an English Teacher.

Summer Programs (open for undergrads and recent college graduates)

  • Teach-In-Hue Summer Program : For anyone interested in teaching English in Central Vietnam for five weeks, and also work directly with several local NGO’s.
